A Christmas Poem for Those Who Have Lost a Loved One

I keep having thoughts run through my head about a poem I ran across a few years back. I decided to post this poem in hopes that someone can find comfort in its words, as I have in the past few years at Christmas time. Even thought it has been many years since my father's death, I still like to read this poem every year around Christmas. I hope you will share it with someone in need.
Merry Chirstmas, Denise Park

My First Christmas in Heaven

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,
With tiny lights like heaven’s stars reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear,
For I am spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But the sound of music can’t compare
With the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you of the joy their voices brings,
For it’s beyond description to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain within your heart,
But I am not so far away, we really aren’t apart.
So, be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you near,
And be glad I’m spending Christmas, with Jesus Christ this year.

I can’t tell you of the splendor or the peace that’s in this place,
Can you imagine Christmas, with our Savior face to face?
I’ll ask Him to lift your spirits, as I tell Him of your love,
Then pray for one another as you lift your eyes above.

I send you each a special gift from my heavenly home above,
I send you each a memory of my undying love.
Please love and keep each other as my Father said to do,
For I can’t count the blessings He has for each of you.

Please, have a Merry Christmas and wipe away those tears,
Remember, I’m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ, this year.
